From January 26th to April 21st ATOPOS cvc is presenting PAP(I)ER FASHION at Galerie Stihl Waiblingen, an
exhibition of the ATOPOS Collection on disposable 60’s dresses and
other unique pieces from various periods and civilisations.
Founded in 2008, Galerie Stihl Waiblingen is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in Germany. It
is dedicated to the medium of paper and has held exhibitions featuring
etchings by Dürer and Rembrandt, water colours by Turner and Nolde,
musical scores by John Cage and cardboard furniture.
ATOPOS
cvc has produced an exhibition that places emphasis on the ephemeral,
fragile, humble and poetic nature of paper garments, juxtaposing
contemporary items with objects from different cultures dating back to
the 18th century. The exhibition has been designed as if 'in transit' -
one of the many that have passed through this extraordinary municipal
gallery.
Our first Paper Fashion exhibition took place at the Benaki Museum, Athens (2007).ATOPOS cvc has since been invited to produce variations of it at, among others, theΜusée
d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean, Luxemburg (2008), the ModeMuseum-MoMu,
Antwerp (2009) and the Museum Bellerive/Design Museum, Zurich (2010).
Seeking alternative ways of presentation, this touring exhibition does
not conform to specific models, but adapts to the challenges of each
different venue! Since 2010, Barbican International Enterprises has undertaken the exhibition’s touring and promotion.

τις 26 Ιανουαρίου μέχρι τις 21 Απριλίου η ATOPOS cvc παρουσιάζει στην
Galerie Stihl Waiblingen, την έκθεση PAP(I)ER FASHION με χάρτινα
φορέματα μιας χρήσης από τη δεκαετία του ‘60 και μοναδικές δημιουργίες
από διαφορετικές εποχές και πολιτισμούς, που ανήκουν στη Συλλογή της
ATOPOS cvc.
Η
Galerie Stihl Waiblingen ιδρύθηκε το 2008 και θεωρείται ως ένα από τα
πιο εντυπωσιακά κτήρια στη Γερμανία. Εστιάζοντας κυρίως στις χάρτινες
δημιουργίες, η Galerie Stihl Waiblingen έχει παρουσιάσει εκθέσεις με
χαρακτικά των Dürer και Rembrandt, υδατογραφίες των Turner και Nolde,
μουσικές παρτιτούρες του John Cage καθώς και χάρτινα έπιπλα.
Η ATOPOS CVC,
δημιούργησε μια έκθεση δίνοντας έμφαση στην εφήμερη, ευαίσθητη, ταπεινή
και ποιητική φύση των χάρτινων ενδυμάτων, τοποθετώντας δίπλα σύγχρονα
και αντικείμενα από διαφορετικούς πολιτισμούς που χρονολογούνται μέχρι
τον 18ο αιώνα. Τα στοιχεία που χρησιμοποιούνται για τον
σχεδιασμό της έκθεσης, αποδίδουν τον χαρακτήρα της διέλευσης από τον
εξαιρετικό χώρο της δημοτικής αυτής γκαλερί, κατά την διεθνή περιοδεία
της.
Η
πρώτη Paper Fashion έκθεση μας παρουσιάστηκε στο Μουσείο Μπενάκη, Αθήνα
(2007). Έκτοτε η ATOPOS cvc προσκλήθηκε να παρουσιάσει διαφορετικές
ερμηνείες της στο Μusée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean, Λουξεμβούργο
(2008), στο ModeMuseum-MoMu, Antwerp (2009) και στο Museum
Bellerive/Design Museum, Ζυρίχη (2010). Αναζητώντας πάντα εναλλακτικούς
τρόπους παρουσίασης, αυτή η περιοδεύουσα έκθεση δεν προσαρμόζεται σε
συγκεκριμένα μοντέλα, αλλά προσαρμόζεται στις προκλήσεις του κάθε
διαφορετικές χώρου που φιλοξενείται! Από το 2010, ο οργανισμός Barbican
International Enterprises ανέλαβε την προώθηση και διεθνή περιοδεία της
έκθεσης.
